I'm sure you've heard many times that healthy, glowing skin starts on the inside. The things you put into your body often show on the outside.

If you eat a healthy, well-balanced diet, you will have clearer, healthier looking skin. If you eat a greasy, highly saturated fat diet, it could show up on your skin as well with acne and other blemishes.

A poor diet can also make your skin look dull and lifeless.

Toxins in the environment and the food you eat get into your body.

The skin, being the largest organ in the human body is very susceptible to absorbing a lot of chemicals and pollutants in the air.

Detox Your Skin From The Inside Out

Many people swear by detoxing while others claim that it's not possible to get rid of all the accumulated chemical substances in our bodies.

It does make sense. Each day we are inundated with chemical substances. Unless you live on a tropical island far away from a modern civilization, it can be nearly impossible to avoid all the hazards we come in contact with.

However, you can take steps to eat healthier and avoid pollution as much as possible.

One of the best ways to keep your system in a state of detox is with water.

Since the body is largely made up of water, it just makes good sense to replenish it daily with fresh, clean water. It is generally recommended that you drink six to eight glasses of water each day with each being around 8oz.

Some people swear by a juice detox.

You can replace a full days worth of meals with juice or just one meal per day. It should be noted that juicing actually removes much of the nutritional value in fruits and vegetables.

If you prepare your own juice you should allow the pulp to stay in the juice so you get the fiber benefits as well. Fiber is a good way to help clean out the colon of accumulated toxins and waste.

Other people prefer to detox the skin itself with gentle exfoliating scrubs or a nice steamy sauna.

Steam will help open the pores so you can sweat out any toxins that are just under the surface of the skin.

Whichever method you choose, please make wise decisions and don't over-do it. Sometimes, too much of a good thing isn't so good.
